Simple tutorial how to create scrollable text frame in Adobe DPS in 10 easy steps.
Step 1. Grab Type tool (T, ) and drag out a text frame.
Step 2. Right-click in the text frame and select “Fill with placeholder text” or paste your text.
Step 3. Make the text box bigger otherwise type descenders the will be cut off.
Step 4. Select the text frame and cut it ( +X) or Edit > Cut.
Step 5. Grab rectangle tool (M ) and create an empty container frame.
Step 6. Select the container frame and open Edit > Paste Into or ( + Shift + V). Now we have the text frame inside the container frame.
Step 7. Select the text frame (Selection Tool, V ) and move it.
Tip: I make visible only half of the last line. And a reader understand he / she needs to scroll the text.
Step 7. Open Window > Folio Overlays > Scrollable Frame.
Step 8. Select the frame (Selection Tool, V ) and select the scrollable direction: Vertical.
Step 9. Select “Use Document Position”.
Step 10. Select “Vector”, because the Vector option provides sharper text. Raster. Raster is used for image-based scrollable frames.
The scrollable frame is created. I’ll add a black frame and colour the text.
